Is Halo a SaaS product we license, or is it part of a Thrivemattic engagement?

Halo is the platform behind every Thrivemattic engagement. We don’t license it as standalone SaaS. The Halo dashboard, Slack bot, and report cadences come with the engagement. Your team uses them daily, while the platform itself is operated by ours. If we’re gone, you keep the database, the dashboard, and the reports; nothing locks you in.

How is Halo different from SEMRush, Ahrefs, or Surfer?

SEMRush, Ahrefs, and Surfer are horizontal tools: you bring the SEO expertise, they give you data. Halo is the opposite. It is an opinionated, education-specific platform with the SEO and GEO judgment encoded in it. We integrate SEMRush data into Halo and others, but Halo does the interpretation, the prioritization, the report-writing, and the Slack-channel conversation about what to do next.

Why is Halo only available for education institutions?

Because the prompts, the AI query categories, the audit thresholds, and the cadence schedules are all calibrated to how universities, colleges, and schools actually publish, recruit, and operate. A generic platform would average across industries and lose the precision. We would rather be the best AI search visibility platform for one vertical than a middling one for ten.

What does the Slack bot actually do?

It runs always-on in your workspace. Ask “what changed last week” and get a Halo-generated summary. Ask “which keywords moved” and get a list with positions. Ask “audit our faculty pages” and Halo accepts the task, queues it for our team, and DMs you when it’s done. Most clients use it as their first stop instead of opening the dashboard.

What’s the difference between AI Visibility and AI Readiness?

AI Visibility measures whether and how often you are cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude. That is the output side. AI Readiness measures whether your site is structured so AI engines can read it accurately. That is the input side. You can have one without the other. Both are tracked in Halo.

Can we see the dashboard before signing?

Yes. Book a Discovery Call and we walk through a live Halo instance on a public university (de-identified) so you can see what your engagement would actually look like. We don’t show client-specific data, but the platform shape and capability are fully visible.

What’s the engagement model?

Halo is bundled into every Thrivemattic engagement. There are two tiers: a low-touch diagnostic (Halo plus read-only access plus monthly review) and a team-operated tier (Halo plus our team running daily ops, weekly cadences, content production, and link building). Both include the platform; neither is sold as standalone software.
