Admission UX
Admissions is the most critical section of the university’s website, for both students and the university. Given its importance, we specifically focused on the admissions section of the website, scanning pages and content related to admissions.
We then analyzed and scored admissions pages for coverage, accessibility and performance. Based on the data from this marketing research, we were able to answer these questions: did they address the key areas that students are interested in, was there sufficient clarity and depth to the information, and how easy was it to reach the forms and then fill them out.

What does digital presence mean for a university?
Digital presence is measured across 7 dimensions totalling 100 points: content completeness, depth, UX, technical excellence, performance, digital visibility, and user perception. The average across 194 universities is 68.4/100.
How does our university’s score compare to the national average?
National average is 68.4/100. Private universities average 69.9, deemed average 66.9. 86% score GOOD (65–79), 0% achieve EXCELLENT (80+). Top performers reach 74 points.
What are the biggest gaps most universities share?
Website performance (51/100 average), financial aid visibility, and mobile optimisation. SEO scores 83/100, showing universities invest in being found but underinvest in post-click experience.
Why is there no EXCELLENT-tier university in the dataset?
EXCELLENT requires 80+ across all 7 dimensions. Performance (51/100 avg) and reputation gaps hold even top universities to 73–74. The first to fix these systematically would become an outlier.
How was this research conducted?
16-stage automated pipeline analysing 194 UGC-recognised universities across 15 states. Crawled 75–100 pages per university, ran Lighthouse audits, SERP analysis, Reddit sentiment (18,725+ posts), AI visibility testing, and tech stack detection. January 2026.
What should we prioritise first to improve our score?
Website performance first (image optimisation, CDN, caching), then admission information visibility (fees, deadlines, requirements), then Reddit sentiment management. These improve scores across multiple dimensions.
How do the deep-dive reports provide additional insights?
Five deep-dive reports cover Technical Performance, SERP brand protection, Reddit sentiment, AI visibility/readability, and Admissions Journey. Each includes university-level benchmarks and specific recommendations.
