What We See
Five places schools lose admissions online, and what we do about each
Every figure below comes from our audit. Every fix is work we already do for schools.
Parents wait 16 seconds for a school homepage
Across the 636 school websites we tested, the main content takes a median of 16.23 seconds to load. Google counts 2.5 seconds as good.
What we do: we find what slows your site on a phone and fix it on the site you already have. If a new website makes more sense, our sister agency Pixelmattic builds them.
Few school websites are ready for AI answers
Only 17.9% of the school websites we checked publish an llms.txt file. Only 17.8% use school structured data. Both help ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews describe a school correctly.
What we do: we make your website easy for search engines and AI assistants to read and cite, using our Halo SEO platform for schools.
One in eight school websites gives parents no way to apply
70
of 542 school websites had no application route
39
had no form on the admissions page; the route was one click away
21
published an admissions timeline with real dates
We audited the admissions pages of 542 school websites. 70 (12.9%) gave a parent no way to apply at all.
What we do: we map the path from a parent's first search to a submitted enquiry, fix the breaks, and track each enquiry through to admission.
School ads talk about admissions, rarely about results
We looked up the 178 school websites that carry an ad tag in the Google, Meta and LinkedIn ad libraries. 140 run ads, so at least 140 of the 645 (21.7%) websites we scanned advertise. In 284 Meta ads confirmed as the schools' own, 22.5% say admissions are open. Just 1 mentions a result. These are two of the eight themes we tracked.
What we do: we plan and run Google and Meta campaigns for your admissions window, with messages built on what parents compare.
Parents are already reviewing schools online
On MouthShut, 147 of the 655 school websites we checked have parent reviews. Across 146 listings, the median rating is 3.45 out of 5, and 34% average below 3 stars.
What we do: Google removed reviews from K–12 school profiles in April 2025. We keep your Google Business Profile accurate, help parents review you where reviews still appear, and help you reply.

FAQ
Questions school leaders ask us
What does digital marketing for schools include?
We cover five areas: search and AI answers, website speed on phones, the enquiry path, paid campaigns and parent reviews. We start with whichever one your scorecard shows is costing you the most.
Is the scorecard really free?
Yes. We build it from a fresh scan of your website and email you a private link. There is no charge and no obligation to work with us.
Do you only work with international schools?
No. Our benchmark comes from 689 international schools, but we also work with private K–12 schools and preschools.
Do you build school websites?
Our sister agency Pixelmattic builds websites. We improve the site you already have, and bring Pixelmattic in when a rebuild makes more sense.
How soon will we see more enquiries?
We do not promise a number before we have seen your data. The scorecard shows where you are today, and we agree what to measure before any work starts.
