⚡ Performance Gap Analysis
Private universities lead by 28 percentage points in #1 rankings and have nearly double the social media presence (4.1 vs 2.1 platforms). This suggests private institutions invest more heavily in digital marketing and SEO. Deemed universities, despite often having stronger academic reputations, are losing the digital visibility battle.
Geographic Performance
SERP performance varies significantly by state. Gujarat leads among large states with 90.9% of universities at Position #1. Punjab and Delhi show the most room for improvement.
| State | % at #1 | Performance |

🎯 Click Distribution Reality
Google search click-through rates drop dramatically after position #1:
• Position #1: ~28-32% of clicks
• Position #2: ~15-17% of clicks
• Position #3: ~10-11% of clicks
• Position #4-10: Combined ~15% of clicks
What this means
The 68 universities not at #1 are collectively losing an estimated 30-50% of their branded search traffic to aggregators and competitors every month. For the 6 universities not in the top 10 at all, their official website is effectively invisible when students search their name.
